2016 Awaroa Cabernet / Merlot / Malbec - Single
Fragrant, fleshy wine. A blend of 50% cabernet merlot, 30% merlot and 20% malbec.
Deep and youthful in colour, it is full bodied, with strong blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent ripeness and complexity, a firm tannin finish.
2016 VINTAGE 4 ½ STARS
The fragrant, fleshy 2016 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50 per cent), Merlot (30 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (20 per cent), matured in French oak barriques. Deep and youthful in colour, it is full-bodied, with strong blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent ripeness and complexity, and a firm tannin grip. Grown on Waiheke Island, the 2011 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70 per cent), Merlot (20 per cent) and Malbec (10 per cent).
