The Dan is a Syrah / Cabernet blend - not so common in NZ but well know in southern France and northern Spain, and increasing in Australia. We make it when the blend works well - our last release was in 2018. The 2023 is an elegant wine with fine tannins and aromas of blackberry and smoky oak. It is well balanced with good mouth feel. Aged in mostly one year old barrels, it is drinking beautifully now but will be at its best in 2 - 5 years.
